History

The Birth of MEDUCLEAN
In 2008, Antonio Torres Boned and his son, working on boats in Ibiza, experienced firsthand the discomfort caused by jellyfish stings. The frequency with which crew members and passengers suffered these painful and irritating skin injuries in the Mediterranean waters made them aware of the need for an effective and accessible solution to relieve the symptoms of jellyfish stings.
Based on dermatological recommendations regarding the need for proper cleaning after a sting, they began developing MEDUCLEAN. This device was specifically designed to facilitate effective skin hygiene, thus offering a practical and accessible remedy for those who enjoy the sea and suffer from jellyfish discomfort.

From Innovation to Market
In 2009, the addition of Ben Gijsen significantly propelled the MEDUCLEAN project toward its commercial launch. Efforts focused on developing functional prototypes and subjecting the device to rigorous dermatological tests in Ibiza. These studies confirmed MEDUCLEAN’s effectiveness for skin hygiene and relief of symptoms after jellyfish stings, validating its potential as an effective solution.
The promising development of MEDUCLEAN attracted the attention of the AC MARCA Group, which in 2010 decided to incorporate the product into its range and launch it on the market under the name CLEANBITE. With a renewed design, CLEANBITE was very well received both in the nautical sector and in the para-pharmaceutical market, quickly establishing itself as a trusted and in-demand solution for treating jellyfish stings.

Digital, sustainable, and global
In 2024, MEDUCLEAN was reborn with a renewed strategy alongside La Fábrica de Inventos and BDSI, focusing on online sales and an updated digital image to reach a global audience; additionally, sustainable spatulas were developed and tested in Ibiza, reinforcing MEDUCLEAN’s commitment to skin care and environmental sustainability.
